Bernard Maybeck’s Masterpiece Up Close
These Doors Open Architectural Tour bring visitors inside Bernard Maybeck’s celebrated First Church of Christ, Scientist in Berkeley. Rather than viewing the landmark only from the street, participants can study its inventive materials, craftsmanship, spatial drama, and hand-wrought details at close range—an unusually direct encounter with one of California’s great early twentieth-century architectural works.
