Friends Awarded a $250,000 Getty Foundation |

Architectural Conservation Implementation Grant |
|

| August 2006, the Friends received one of the highest honors available worldwide for the preservation of a historic structure - a Getty Foundation Architectural Conservation Implementation Grant. These grants provide funds for physical conservation and are matching grants. |
| Getty Grants at this level are highly selective, and limited to projects for which thorough planning work has been completed. The Getty Foundation is worldwide in its scope. In 2005, only three Implementation grants were awarded - and only one in the United States. |

| Commenting on First Church, Berkeley, Antoine Wilmering, Program Officer for the Getty Foundation, said: “The Maybeck building is very significant and it is really a terrific example of the Arts and Crafts movement, especially as it developed in the Bay Area.” |
